Notes:

In 1891 won travelling scholarship and visited Italy, France and Belgium. Came to the attention of Fra Newbery at Glasgow School of Art and became lifelong friend of Fra and Jessie Newbery. Newbery arranged for him to be commissioned to design the Glasgow School of Art. Went to Suffolk 1914, followed by Chelsea, 1915 and to France 1923.
