Robina Tittle was born in Torphichen in 1887, the daughter of Robert and Rebecca Tittle. She entered the Trustees Aademy in 1905 and was one of the first students at Edinburgh College of Art. She was awarded a minor travelling bursary in the 1911 – 1912 session and a diploma in drawing and painting at the end of the 1913 – 1914 session. She taught at Dunoon and in Castle Douglas, in both of which places she produced war memorials. Like the Taylors in Kirkcudbright, Robina Tittle also organised pageants in Castle Douglas.
