Helen Paxton Brown produced embroidery designs, painted portraits and café interiors. She taught at Glasgow School of Art 1911-1917 and was treasurer of Glasgow Society of Lady Artists, 1911-1919.  In later years she concentrated on needlework for which she won the Lauder Award, in 1923.

 

Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art 1898, watercolour, ink and black chalk on paper portrait of Jessie M King. Stewartry Museum also has a portrait by her of Jessie M King.
