Came to Kirkcudbright about 1920. Lived firstly in studio in Castle Street, then in 3 and 5 High Street. Retired to south of England. Used hut at Carrick shore as holiday house and studio.

Landscape painter. Came to Kirkcudbright at invitation of Joseph Simpson. His Whinnieligate exhibited at Harbour Gallery, Kirkcudbright jubillee, 1982. His A View Towards McLellan’s Castle illustrated in Bourne p87 (see bibliography). Imperial War Museum has some of his watercolours (Stewartry Museum file).
