Notes:

Best known for his work in Spain and the 1838-9 visit to Egypt and the Holy Land. Contributed to Lawson’s Scotland c1845 (see bibliography). Painted Caerlaverock Castle. His first work shown at the British Institute,1825, was New Abbey, Dumfriesshire (sic), untraced.
