Notes:

Painter of cattle and lush pastoral life, landscape and coastal scenes.

 

His pictures Sandcastles and A Pastoral, Southern Scotland date from a family holiday in Scotland 1902 (See Bradford exhibition catalogue)  His more sombre evening paintings appear to be concentrated in the period 1906 to 1913.

A painting Kippford Dusk was sold at Bonhams’ Scottish sale 24 august 2007.  Sale 15120 lot 1341
