Best known for his work for Queen Victoria’s Jubilee. Settled in Edinburgh following visit to Australia, 1863-1867. Several visits to Spain. Views of east coast fishing villages influenced by Sam Bough. His self portrait, 1884, is in Aberdeen Art Gallery.
