Notes:

Born in Gatehouse of Fleet in 1855. Possibly taught by John Faed.  Her father was Rev Hugh Morton-Jack, who died 1879. After his death moved to Dunblane and then St Andrews. Exhibited On the Moors, Galloway at the Royal Academy, 1884. Galloway works exhibited at RSA included Morning on the Shore, Sandgreen, 1882, A Cottage Home, Girthon Kirk, 1883, The Old Castle, Cardoness, 1897. Taught Fine Art at University College, Dundee, 1889-1900.  May have been the first female member of staff at the college.  Also worked  and exhibited in Ottawa, Canada.  Her address in 1900 was 206 O’Connor Street, Ottawa.
