Lena Alexander painted flowers, portraits, and views of Paris and Venice in pastel and sometimes watercolour.  She was a member of Scottish Society of Women Artists.

 

Stewartry Museum file contains photo of artist in studio.  Lena moved to Kirkcudbright in 1939 and was one of the last surviving members of the Kirkcudbright School.

 

Stewartry Museum has her portrait of Jessie M King and a portrait of her by A. Livingstone.  Exhibition catalogue (see bibliography) contains: Number 17 Houses, Kirkcudbright, pastel, 14 by 20 in.  Her married name was Mrs Lees Duncan.

 

Harbour Cottage Trust (HCT) has her self portrait.
